This fix worked for me using my Windows Home Server 32bit installation, but should also work for Windows Server 2003. The problem was that my 32bit computers could connect and print to the printer that was attached to the server without a problem where as my 64bit Vista client computer could not as it would ask for the proper drivers to be installed.
The solution involves a what seems to be round-a-bout solution, but works. - Start the Add Printer wizard on your Vista computer.
- Choose to add a local printer. Click Next.
- Choose 'Create a new port' and select 'Local port' from the drop-down. Click Next.
- In the box that appears asking for the port name, type \\servername\sharename, substituting the obvious values for your shared printer on your server. Click OK.
- Choose the correct driver for the printer in the list. Click Next and finish the rest of the wizard as normal.
This solution was found on Microsoft's Forums.
